Today in LLandaff village car park (Cardiff) some kind sole threw a slab of concrete through the drivers door window of my 4 month old Silver MY02. They stole from the boot a black bag with all my work documents and of no value to them. Worst of all they have damaged the door pillar and door trim. The bucket seat on the drivers side is scuffed with the glass debris and the slab which they carried across a car park from 50 yds away! What I want to know is can the seat covers be easily swapped as there is a zip on the headreast so it looks as if Subaru have thought about it.I imagine the trim etc is straightforward to replace no doubt I will be finding broken glass til I sell the car!

Sorry to hear this, I also have a 4 month old silver WRX. It really p1sses me off when I read things like this.

I reckon you are looking at a new seat to be honest, I can't see Subaru dealers going to the trouble of fitting seat covers.

Hope everything works out ok and that the theiving scum die painfully very soon.

Well the story didn't end after I posted this thread. Had a phone from a guy who's wife had found my stuff lying near Radyr railway station. I went and retreived it and they wouldn't take a reward for their trouble. This has restored my faith in humanity somewhat. I did a bit of detective work at the scene and recovered even more stuff including my P60! which was actually quite fun in a perverse way. The window gets repaired tomorrow and I'll sort the trim and other damage out soon. The seat cover does seem to just unclip off the frame I'll post how I get on. Feel a lot better about the situation now thanks for the replies..

Glad to hear you recovered most of your documents.

Attacks like this seem to be done more for vandalism than to get anything valuable out of the car. Really p***es me off when I read something like this. Several hundred pounds of damage for nothing! :(

Guy at work had his entire dashboard wrecked for a crappy stereo which could have easily been extracted in seconds with the correct tools!

Korky,

I have traded in my Forester for a 4 month old WRX 5 door (ex demo). I am absolutely delighted with her. Much easier to drive than the Forester, wihch was getting a trifle large for me in my tender years....Blutes

p.s.
Why should I trade in a classic Maxi for a Subaru ? c'mon !
