Hi all,
Ive had My Scooby two weeks now, and have noticed an quite knock from the R/N/S corner,It sounds suspension related as it seems to mostly follow the bumps. I would consider myself an average home mechanic, but have no experience on Scoobys or Four Wheel drive cars. Any ideas on the cause or where to look?

check the back box rubbers,it may just be these if it follows bumps.

Which Impreza do you have?

if it aint the exhaust and it does it more when braking (or the back end lifts) it could be the top mounts (especially if its got non standard springs).

Sounds like a problem I had with mine. Thought it was a strut gone but turned out to be the bush in the droplink had worn and was moving about. Fixed it by replacing the drop links front and rear with MRT ones (£80 for all 4).

Just in case you don't know. The drop link attaches the anti roll bar to the rear suspension and if its a UK car then they are just a bit of black plastic with a bush at each end held in with a bolt.

Oh and you CAN'T check/change drop links with the car jacked up as they are then under load.

The car is a my95 wrx, Ive tried it with the jack out & the exahust is fine. It sounds like its comming from the top of the strut, so Im wondering if the bush at the top has worn. AFAIK its standard suspension on the back and adjustable on the front. I havent touched any settings so I am relying on the prevoius owner to have had it all set up correct. I guess Ill have to get someone who knows about the cars to have a listen , know of ant mechs who work for peanuts coz Im skint at the mo :(
