Question1. What are the licensing issues regarding a lan game? does one cd key acceptable? or does each individual client need one?

Dont know 2 or 3 but..

1). For a LAN game the same key can be used. There are some config options on the dedicated server to tell it its a LAN game and not to bother authenticating

9. I have a LAN set up and want to run a server for the LAN but don't know how? Use "sv_lan 1" in your server.cfg to enable LAN only dedicated server mode. Also, try either adding "setmaster none" in your config file or else "-nomaster" to the target line of your hlds shortcut to keep your server from trying to connect to the WON authorization servers.

cheers - and how do u do a full colour spray tag??

Short version is

Graphic can only be a certain number of pixels wide and high.

Transfer it to Half-Life wad format.

Overwrite the current decal file with your new one.

Also I'm sure it mentions it but pure blue is used for transparent.

that is cs though, not hl

The file is the same format for all H-L mods - does H-L itself use a spray ?

certainly does spray - most servers turn off this facility now due to the various "anatomical" digrams that get sprayed up....

"Half-Life" is a single player game.

There are many mods that use the Half-Life engine for mutiplayer games. e.g. Counter-Strike, Half-Life:TFC. All the sites I can find imply the colour sprays are available only to Mods.

no it isn't. You can load up hl and go to multiplayer, and create/join a hl game.

Fair point - but Everything I can find still only relates to "Mods"
