Markus,
The HUD for boost and turbo timer can either be as one unit, or you can just buy a HUD for boost only (which is cheaper)!!

Paul,
I can definatley read!!! Ask you missus!!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif I read her the instructions on the 10" Dildo box, before she was given the best time of her life....the other night, when she experienced the real "Real Deal"!!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Markus 15 June 2001 12:16 AM

The Zohan 15 June 2001 12:28 AM

Shaun - LOL (alot, 'till it hurt) http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
I usually make her switch it off in the evening- it interferes with the telly picture http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Paul

Any chance of a meet up and look-see at your HUD at some stage old chap?

Shaun 15 June 2001 09:06 AM

Shaun 15 June 2001 09:12 AM

Also be careful what your looking at, as the boost/timer module is separate to the one that shows :

-Clock Mode
-RPMS
-Speed
-Trip Time (great for track day lap times)
-Trip mileage
-Mileage countdown

So you would need 2 (Sports VSD & Boost/Timer HUD's). They are brilliant in direct sunlight, so don't worry!!

Also remember the price on the website is DIRECT from Defi, but does not include and import dutys and vat when it arrives at customs.

I'm sure NAMotorsport will do you a good deal though.

The Zohan 15 June 2001 11:16 AM

Oh yes - i shall be saving my pennies! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Shaun - I did not realise you could read or do they do one with thumbs up or down http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Markus 15 June 2001 11:20 AM

ooooh!

NITO, where are you mate! You should have one of these to add to the figher pilot like cockpit of your Wagon! Even more so as you do Defi gauges.

I like it a lot! I have a boost gauge at the moment, so if I wanted the heads up then what would need to be put where? un plumb the existing guage? i'd like 2 of them, as the clock and other bits sound top.

Markus 15 June 2001 11:23 AM

just reading the link. Looks like it'll work as a turbo timer as well. Can anyone confirm that just the boost one does this, or do you need the 2 things, boost and the other one?

seems too good to be true, to be honest, as it sounds like with both the thingys (or one?) I could get rid of my existing HKS boost gauge and GReddy turbo timer. Can someone confirm if this is a dream or reality?

chuckster 15 June 2001 11:50 AM

It's reality Mark http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
But still seems like a toy to me.
Toys are good though http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

RonaldoH 15 June 2001 12:27 PM

Just been mailed this by a friend, might well be worth getting a look at these considering it has boost display as well as speed rev counters... Heard rumours of people selling these before now, and these dont seem to expensive considering!

Check it out

harj 15 June 2001 12:31 PM

Ron ive got one coming http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

If anyone is interested look for the New Age Motorsport Banner and email it through.

Harj...

RonaldoH 15 June 2001 12:38 PM

How much you gonna be selling em for Harj?

The Defi ones have a built in turbo timer that reads boost, and when it was on full chat and how long ago, and then sets itself...That IMHO rocks the boat for gadget turbo loons like us lot.

Not only that, I have found some pics of what it looks like in bright sunshine, and that aint too shabby.

The question is, how close will it be to £180.00? any ideas yet H?

There are loads of VW nuts in the states that have em already....

Is this going to be as big as the mechanical boost guage craze with warning peak lights? Looks like it might do with

-Clock Mode
-RPMS
-Speed
-Boost in BAR
-Trip Time (great for track day lap times)
-Trip mileage
-Mileage countdown

It appears the list goes on and on and on!

Paul,

Just received the parcel from the courier (about 30mins ago), and the boost/timer kit is very comprehensive. It includes everything from boost pipe, t-piece, sticky pads etc etc. The display on the HUD itself looks even sexier than your missus on the job!!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

I hope to get the boost bit fitted tonight (if I can be a r s e d), and may not bother with the timer (as when you arm your alarm, walk away from the car, when the timer turns off it unlocks the doors!!!). I should be over at Donno sometime tomorrow and SPOD on Sunday. If I don't catch up with you, drop me an email and we'll meet up.

Shaun.

The Zohan 15 June 2001 02:34 PM

Thanks Shaun, i am away from first thing Sunday, will catch up with you the following week if thats ok.

Can't wait for Jenny aka Mrs Subaru to see this thread!

Have a good 'un

Markus 15 June 2001 04:52 PM

sounds like I could just plumb this thing in and replace my existing boost gauge. as for TT, well, I have one anyway, so could just use that.

The sports VSD with speedo and tacho stuff sounds cool as well.

The Zohan 15 June 2001 05:10 PM

Just keep digging that hole - oh God what am i saying http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

ZAZ 15 June 2001 05:22 PM

Does anyone know whether it is legal to project stuff onto the windscreen infront of the driver?

I saw a thread earlier in the year talking about these and was tempted then but I'd only just got the car so was a little skint. Would like to see this fitted to a car before buying one though. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
