Thanks Bros,

I do realise that I was very lucky. Scary really as to what could have happened!

I've been onto my insurance company and they will be sorting my car whilst I am on holiday!

http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif As bros said; just be glad it wasn't worse. I was supposed to be heading down there in about half an hour, pc probs make that unlikely now though.

Mark.

Did you ask to see the guys Tachograph?

I drove lorries for a while in a previous life, and believe me, you don't hear a thing when you're sitting on top of a 14 litre quad turbo engine!

Not Happy!!

Driving along the M73 slip-road off the A80 this morning on my way to work when an HGV decided he liked my piece of tarmac better than his own!

I ended up swerving onto the hard shoulder and couldn't move over any further when he eventually hit me!

He admited that he hadn't seen me and hadn't heard my frantic horn-blowing (although that's not difficult with the poor Subaru horn!). So, hopefully, it should be a straightforward insurance job.

Luckily, (Hmmm!) not done much damage only a scratch on the rear quarter and the bumper - but I haven't examined the damage in too much detail!

To cap it all off I go on holiday for two weeks tomorrow - just my luck!

Should be a straightforward enough insurance job, but boy, were you lucky! I saw the aftermath of an HGV/car incident a couple of years back, where the rear two axles of the HGV trailer had gone over the bonnet of the car. The driver was killed instantly.

Go on holiday and chill!

Mark
I've just heard a story about a Lorry and a shop in High Wycombe today, suffice to say that it was worse than your story with 2 ladies dead, and another in hospital seiously ill. It involved the hgv, a hill and no brakes! oouuuccchhhh!!!!!!!!
No doubt your car will live to see another day!
ps. have a good holiday!

I have had a similar experience, where the driver of a road sweeper (don't laugh), hit my then car a Sierra. At the scene of the accident, the driver said he didn't see me and apologised.

However when it came to filling in an accident report, he completely changed his story so as to protect his job!

Be warned, it may end up as a case of his word against yours (I hope I'm wrong though)

Closing the door after the horse has bolted, but I always keep a disposable camera in my glovebox just in case there is an accident. A picture paints a thousand words and can be difficult to refute.
