my MY98 turbo is lumpy and hesitant when cruising at 60 mph its also happens on slow acceleration from 40 to 60mph but not noticeably when accelerating full bore. The fuel consumption has also fallen ? Anybody have any ideas ? or had a similar problem ?

many thanks Rog

hi,
i had the lumpy bit of your problem. I did an ecu reset and its been fine since, something to do with bad fuel, i think.

The combination of lumpy running and less use of fuel sounds like it is running very lean on cruise - however it is fine on WOT acceleration.

Sounds like a faulty lambda sensor to me - it is not used during WOT - the car runs off the base map, it is used for cruise and gentle acceleration.

Try 'borrowing' one to see if it makes a difference - or get your car run on a SELECT monitor.

Thanks for the suggestions but i think i found the culprit ,a large split in my boost gauge pipe at the inlet manifold. Seems to solved the problem but i'll wait for a longer run to work to make sure :)
