MrDeference 12 July 2002 10:24 AM

Wow! Never seen that one before. Cheers for the pointer - lots to play with :)

David_Wallis 12 July 2002 10:47 AM

play with it and let me know how to do a 3d surface graph...

David

MrDeference 12 July 2002 10:50 AM

Initially it doesn't look like you can. It is confusing. 3d surface is clearly there in the enumeration, but using it as a chart type throws an exception.
Leads me to believe the developers bunked off early and didn't finish implementing the control.

MrDeference 12 July 2002 10:55 AM

This guy had the same problem...

David_Wallis 12 July 2002 12:11 PM

ich brauche dringend Hilfe zu folgendem Problem:
In meiner Anwendung möchte ich gern Daten grafisch darstellen.
Dazu benutze ich ein MSChart.
Soweit - sogut.

Eh?

David

David_Wallis 12 July 2002 12:12 PM

odd isnt it?

It would do exactly what I want as well.. there must be a simple way of doing this sort of thing.

I want to have however after possibility a 3D-Oberflaechen-Diagramm. This type of diagram is however missing with the selection of the chartType characteristic. After I in the object catalog stoeberte, it noticed to me that into the MSChartLib all diagram types it is enumerated (among other things), whereby some (and naturally also of me needed!) so-called _ hidden _ items are. The problem is now, how I come nevertheless to the surface diagram heran(Die constant am called by the way VtChChartType3dSurface and has the value 23)?

I would be pleased, if someone me could help. Best thanks in advance!

Thomas.

I've done a lot of charting stuff for my previous company.. however your using vb so you will burn in hell forever

p.s. only kiddin ;) I tried loads of different charting apps / components... www.componentsource.com (IIRC) have loads (comes with Enterprise edition of Devstudio) I, however, ended up plumping for the stingray one. www.rougewave.com

o and suface "graphs" are for bull$hit statistions who want to hide information. Stick with bargraphs and piecharts if you actaully want to show data :)

David_Wallis 15 July 2002 12:34 PM

I am wanting to plot Load x RPM x degrees or Load x RPM x boost... these sort of graphs seem the norm.....
