Old girl is going in for her 30k service soon.

How much should I be expecting to pay ?

Also, have an ITG filter and Iridium plugs fitted, should I point these items out to whomever so that they don't junk them in favour of stock items ?

I have a list of prices for my local Subaru dealer and the 30k service is £378.28. Prices will very a bit depending on where you are. I know labour prices are much higher in London.
I would tell them that you have those items because they probably will bin them.

Mine was £390 inc vat for the 2 year, that included fitting up my Defi senders aswell, a big chunk of the parts were spark plugs so if you don't have plugs and filter fitted I reckon you could save around £50.

Cheers guys.
I'm up in Edinburgh, but expected something around that mark.
Thanx re the existing equipment question tho. Will make a point in advising whomever I get to service her.

:)

i'm gonna have to change gararge, i got my wallet emtied to the tune of £446. Arse!
While we're on the subject, i've just had the 37.5k, which as far as i can tell, is oil + filter and a few checks. This came to £150. Double Arse!!

Devil's Refugee 10 July 2002 09:26 AM

Hmm....phoned up the local Scoob dealer and they advised a similar price.

However, they said that they would not stamp the book if I did not want the plugs and filter replaced as it meant that the full service was not carried out!?!?!!?!

:(

Might as well make it a triple. The next one is the 45k. Cambelt:(

mega_stream 10 July 2002 09:33 AM

That sounds like a bunch of arse m8..

If you have new good quality spark plugs why would they want to take them out? Also the filter, my dealer was fine me leaving my ITG in. They just didn't charge me for the new one, saved a few more pennies by asking them not to bother with screen wash (filled the bottle up b4 I took it in)

Tight ar5e ain't I? :D

Feck!
Is a dealer stamp really worth it to Scooby owners ?

If the car is cared for and serviced by a 'performance' specialist instead of greedy official garages, would you be bothered ?

I'm never interested in dealer stamps.. Seen too many garages all to happy to stamp a book up without even asking.. bought a Honda which had a service missing took it to main dealer for next service.. and when I got back noticed they'd stamped the book right up to date... happened a few times with various dealers over the years... Best to look out for the receipts which show the work has been done.. they also detail what has been done rather than looking at a service schedule...

all IMHO of course... never trust a service book...

Cheers!

Thankfully, the previous owners have kept every receipt which I intend to do also, so there's more history with the car than a simple service book can demonstrate.
