Hi

I have a question of a Toilet kind! - If I want to build a bathroom about 10 foot away from an exsisting bathroom - what do I do with the waste from the loo?? water in and soiled water out is easy ..................... but how the hell do you run the new loo waste into the original stack - which may well be inside the fabric of the house???

Anyone help??

I would ask for professional help/advise - you may need a new "vent pipe" (or whatever they are called), but i don't know about the exact (or even rough ;) ) regulations.

Depending on the way joists run.. with difficulty.. You probably have to go outside with it.. as you cant just drill that size hole through joists.. and to get the correct slope would be hard... besides boxing the pipe in wouldnt be pretty... Plan the layout of the bathroom carefully or reconsider.. May be easy just to put a new soil pipe in, but Im unsure whether you are allowed to have these external now..

I assume there's some reason you can't just dump it in through the sewer access that you conveniently have in your extension, too?

Carl - thinking of putting another bathroom upstairs see?? as well as one downstairs in addition to the cloakroom. Will add another bedroom making 5 beds. this is all on the house I have an eye on - just getting a 'feel' for whats needed.

Have you thought about getting one of the Sanifo(?) jobbies (no pun) that chews up the poo up and sends it down a small pipe that can be easily routed ? My mum's got one and it worked really well. Saves lots of hassle...

My mates parents had to get one of those choppy up things. Not 'cos of pipe problems, but because his massive fat brother once used an entire loo roll for on turd, and it blocked all the pipes up big time. Serious problems unblocking it all.

So while he was living at home they decided to get one. :D

"but because his massive fat brother once used an entire loo roll for on turd"

did he consider sqeezing it all out at once, or did he just wipe it away a milemetre at a time?

Whats wrong with a bucket? Works for some members of society. Either that or a toothbrush to poke it down the sink>>>

Saniflow jobbie might be an option - but I dont reckon its without its drawbacks?
