I`ve finaly decided to go for a new brake setup on my MY97 wagon and need some advice on which to go for.
I`m running on 17" PD7`s so I`m looking at getting a 330mm disk setup but AP`s or Alcon ?
If i go for AP`s are the slotted disks better than drilled (no track days)& who does the best deal.
The Alcon`s are tempting especialy with the 10% SIDC discount, but the pads & disc`s sound a bit pricey to replace.

Any advice greatfully accepted !

Thanks.

Either one of these set ups will cost you in pads/discs as neither are that cheap :(
My self id go for the AP set up as these are very good :D but you may as well go the whole hog and get the 6pots for about 100 quid more ;)

Like you I don't do track days. My Alcons have been on the P1 now for 10k and previously on the old wagon for around 4k. Just taken the wheeels off to give everything a good clean and there's still loads of meat left on the DS2000 pads and no descernable wear at all on the discs. I'm not hard on brakes but do use them when necasary during fast road use. Never been anything but fantastic in stopping power. And I think they look the best out of all the kits, although I was at SS recently and they are now using KAD? calipers that look really good.

I have a pic with this set up on my old wagon with gold PD7's if you'd like to see it. Send me a mail and i'll return pic.

Steve.
