My sister (shown in some of the below) is a lucky bunny, here is her night out last Saturday. Fortunately the two passengers were ok also (one is there in the blue polo shirt)the other is in hospital, getting out today.

This was a low mileage 328i Sport with all the M3 bits on an R-plate.

Now it's a wreck. Not sure what to do with it now, any buyers/advice???? I need to shift the car now it has been released

It's housed in Cheshire at the moment by the way.

Has been a humbling experience, and I wasn't even in the car.... at least the Scooby is ok.

I take it it's an insurance write off.
You could re-shell it although it looks like most of the mechanicals are scrap
Assuming irt is a wriyte off it will be classed as a 'Q' plate and will have 'write off' on it's log book - this will drastically reduce it's value if it was put back on the road - some insurancee companies will charge extra due to Q plate status.

They were very lucky....

Cheers for your reply PAUL, was never even considering it being back on the road in any way shape or form....thinking more of selling the bits/ the lot to a willing taker, but I don't even have a clue to the value of these things.

Down the lanes near my house late Sat night,
your know the type of lanes; narrowish with about a 2-3 foot soil/grass bank on either side and on top of the bank is a big hedge???

Anyway caught the front drivers side on the inside of a gentle right hand bend and the rest is history....back of the car flipped out as you might expect, the car travelled sideways down the hedge on the left of the road for about 20 yds, then rolled twice as it hit 2 or 3 of those smallish concrete fence posts you sometimes see round fields (fence post damage shown in first photo).

By this time the car roughly was facing the direction of travel again (albeit on its roof), and went through a 3ft brick wall before stopping in a farmers yard.

Lucky....yes.

Ed - the wheels?!? - chances are they have been stressed to buggery during the incident.

might be worth getting your local Autotrader - lots of comanies advertising/looking for damaged cars, seen worse in there. This may be a good place to start, i have absolutley no idea what it is worth the interior and shell/panels look totalled, ther might well be good undamaged mechanicals under there somewhere.

Darren - It was between Tarvin and Oscroft, outside Chester...been in all local the papers.

RonaldoH - I did, just glad she is alive, the fire brigade said people don't normally walk away from those sort of impacts....testament to the solid build of BMW's I think.

Paul, thanks for your time/help there....I'll get the Autotrader ASAP, Should get a few quid back for whats left. Believe it or not the seats (sports leather jobs) are intact so far as I can tell. The dash, steering wheel, door cards, CD changer, spare wheel!!! and every panel are all knackered. I think 3 of the alloys are ok, one is bent.

PSLewis - It'll be a sad day when you vacate scoobynet because you always manage to raise a smile outta me.... thinking about the Autotrader thing, you are so right.

Thought you might say that.

Basically two choices then:

1) You sell it to a salvage yard - convenient for you, but less cash as they will take a profit on it.

2) You sell it for salvage yourself (Exchange & Mart etc) - potentially more cash for you, but from experience, be prepared to be dealing with tyrekickers from hell and the dregs of humanity....... http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif
