When my company purchase a new piece of software we copy it (via Xcopy) on to our server so that it gets backed-up every night and so that everyone has access to the shared 'Install Kit'.

The problem we have is, when we copied Visual Studio .NET CD1-4 onto the server (once again via Xcopy) some of the folders got moved around, making it impossible to install the product from the network share. The command we used is the same as we used for every other CD image we have copied. This was X:\xcopy *.* /s /h /e y: (Where X is the CD Rom and Y is the network share).

We have been looking at File/folder comparison programs to try and work out if there are any files or folder not copied. So far we found EZ Folder Comp FX from http://xout.free.fr/fcmp/EZFldFx.zip but it is not very good and often crashes with run time errors despite having the runtimes DLL's already installed.

Does anyone else know or use any other file/folder comparison programs?

Thanks
Darren
