I need to replace the tyres on my P1 and don't want to get the P Zeros again as they are shocking in the wet.

I know the question has been asked before but I can't get search working, so can you fit 215/45/17 on the P1 as they P Zeros are 205/45/17, but they are the only manufacturer to make this particular size.

If anyone has done this then any recommendations would be gratefully received.

You need 215/40 17 to keep the rolling radius the same.

This size gives a better choice of tyres, eg.Goodyear, toyo, Bridgestone, etc.

yep... ian is right.

215/40/17 will fit nicely, and is in fact a better set up to the 205 that are fitted as standard.

I know a lot of people say you can get 225's to fit on a 17" wheel but the handling suffers and you sill also find that in some cases you will rub your wheelarches in this size.

I got through 2 sets of Pirellis before changing to Toyo T1-S's which are very very good in the wet (did an extremely rainy track session at Anglesey last month - standing water most of the way and grip was amazing, slip was progressive and smooth), they're pretty good in the dry too, but I think you'd have to be a bit silly to reach the limits in the dry with a P1 even on tyres that don't particularly stand out in the dry. Paid £89 a corner inc. vat and fitting etc.
