Message from a friend with an STIiv who owns his own tyre & exhaust business ..... he said Champiro are a good budget tyre - he has had them on his Scoob and he was really impressed - also don't wear out so quick as say SO2's - good grip and excellent for track use as they don't get so hot or too sticky also have a friend with an Escort Cossie and he's had them fitted too. All depends if you are a brand name person :)

Also, agree that Kumho are the same - a GOOD cheap brand tyre but definately not cheap quality - you should get good wear and good grip out of either.

Hope this helps

Jo :-)

Anyone heard of them?

Are they cheap and nasty?

Or cheap, nasty and dangerous?

Or actually not too bad?

Anyone know? Cheers.

Sounds dodgy like a mickey mouse make to me, look for this on the side walls,

E-Marks - Tyres for sale in the European Community must carry an E -Mark in accordance with ECE Reg 30 - eg E4 027550

Good luck :)

Thanks for that Andrew. According to that site i should count myself lucky to be the proud owner of a pair - yippee!!

But i popped into Kwik Fit this morning to see what they said. Apparently there are a lot of these far eastern non-brands appearing, all pretty much aimed at the cheaper end of the market. Not because they're any worse, but because they don't have a big brand name to pay for. He reckoned they would wear more than a known brand, but i don't think he had any proof of that. Cheaper doesn't necessarily mean worse, unless anyone knows better of these Indonesian imports..?

Telboy,

I've got Kumho 712 tyres on my car and they are excellent. Plenty of grip wet or dry and showing little sign of wear considering I've been to the 'ring three times with them.

If you feel safe with these tyres it dosn't matter whether they are a known brand or not. Toyo isn't a brand that is that well known by the public but hundreds of people on this site swear by them.
