Was in my local dealers, and saw a prodrive performance pack for a Forrester being fitted.......
Just wonder what sort of power gains that gave it & if anyone else had significantly added other performance/suspension mods to their Forrester ?
Surely with insurance being what it is - this would be the ultimate Q-car.......!

One of my work colleagues has a Forester Turbo with the PPP on it. He has also had the Prodrive suspension package fitted as well.

I'm not sure exactly what is in the performance pack, but it definitely contains a new ECU and a dump valve from the Impreza.

As far as power gains go, it brings the Forester up to just over 200bhp. It certainly makes a noticeable difference to the performance, but I reckon that the suspension package is a must if you like to engage in any serious B-road driving.

As you say, it's almost the ultimate Q-car, as it can give most things a bit of a fright.

Can anyone say Forester Turbo with PPP and a front mounted intercooler kit http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Rather than fork out on a Prodrive package on a UK model, start off with a "grey" Stb or Ttb. They have 240 PS to start off. I gather the Prodrive package takes the UK power from 170 to 200BHP so there is quite a difference in BHP even with this extra cost.

The greys will also have tinted windows as standard.

Brakes can be uprated to 4 pots relatively easily but you have top go up to 17" wheels.
Rather than Prodrive bits, you could try Aussie MRT parts. They have two agents in the UK now and have an extensive range of engine and suspension parts for the Forester.
Also try Scooby sports for exhaust filter and wheels.

Is it true that S/TB and T/TB stand for Single Turbo and Twin Turbo or am I way off the mark?

clarence 03 June 2001 05:44 PM

Both S/tb & T/tb have single turbo engines (250ps up to MY99, 240ps then on).
Difference is that S/tb has less quipment compared to T/tb and that S/tb has less chrome. The T/tb also has self-levelling suspension.

The "S" is for spartan, the "T" for tarty - well the ones I have seen anyway. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif
Mind you, talking of tarty, my Stb seems to have attracted a lot of chrome from its owner in Japan.

There seems to be quite a few holes for speakers but mine has only got front door ones with tweeters. Has anyone got anything filling the small grills in the C pillar at the back?

Clarence, what year did the 250 PS engines start?
It is about time I put mine on a RR to see what it does.

We've just bought a S/TB. Tried a Uk Forester with PPP and then an import, purchased the import the next day. Better 'vroom', better fittings but came with original Yokohama rubber...eeek. Saved by the well set up suspension and a three lane round about!
Thanks for your advice Nick and I'm away to find some Toyo's to calm the squeal factor, both mine and the tyres.
How many other Forester owners are out there and what have you had done to your cars?

250ps from launch (mid-97) to August 98, then 240ps from MY99 onwards.
This corresponds to the engine output of the WRX wagon.
