Which ECU upgrade is best value for money ?
I have a MY96 with standard ECU and just wondered which upgrade in other peoples opinion is best. I am looking for mainly torque increases (don't know if there are any differences between ecu programming for this)

Any thoughts welcome and any relevant websites greatly appreciated.

Anyone got a Gem? ECU fitted

Cheers

Steve,

Hard to say which is best value. Depends what you are looking for??

If you are willing to invest I reckon the GEMS is the best package but it will cost £2K fitted and mapped. The mapping takes 2~3 Hrs on its own. The GEMS offers the following features -

Spec/Features as follows:
All maps 14 Load X 20 RPM (280 sites)
Mappable Fuel,Ignition,Boost,ALS,Water Injection.
Closed loop boost control.Fully 3d mappable target boost.
Closed loop idle speed control with:
Cold start fast idle
A/C Auto speed up
A/C auto switch off at preset boost
Anti stall Map controlling either Idle Valve or Ign Timing
Switchable Fuel and Ign maps for different fuels
Water spray control from boost and Air Temp with variable
delay timer.
Air temp advance correction
Overboost Limit map
Mappable acceleration enrichment by throttle and RPM
Mappable deceleration fuel cut
Shift light
2 stage rev limiter (Fuel and Ign cut)
Semi active Electronic Centre Diff control:
Throttle activated lock
Foot Brake activated lock
Handbrake release
Priority setting for left foot braking
Data logging of all engine sensor parameters
Immobiliser
Individual cylinder fuel trim
Individual cylinder ign advance trim
Anti lag / Launch control

Hope this helps
