going down Fri morning - r u camping over or staying in hotel?

RRH 01 July 2002 12:44 PM

motorhome on whittlebury hall- we got the motorhome on the BRDC last year but it was a bit boring and, as we'd blagged our way on there and didn't have the correct passes, it was a pain in the arse to move around.

we did manage to get in to DCs party though (as dull as a box of frogs!)- although it seems the jamiroquai party was the one to go to!

where are you staying?

Danny.172 01 July 2002 03:05 PM

Not sure where we are staying yet, we are just going to get their and look for a camp site when we get their - is this the thing to do?
Is their usually a lot of parties etc to go to over the weekend?

RRH 01 July 2002 03:09 PM

Don't know what the score is this year regarding campsites.

There's usually loads going on, both on Whittlebury and on some of the other sites near the main entrance. There's a fair and stuff over there also.

Probably wise to have a ring round first- the traffic is very heavy and you may struggle to get in and out of the sites to find one with a vacancy.

We are going as well, on Saturday evening and we'll just be sleeping in the car in the car park.

If it doesn't rain will have a BBQ by our car in the evening, have a nap and in the morning we'll make our way to the circuit.

friend and myself will be camping in the sra ( silverstone recreation association). huge camp site, toilets, showers and cheap beer in the club. not far from centre of village where there is the pub..one bad thing £40 to pitch a tent!! but you can stay for 4 days for £50.

ring penny at whittlebury hall on 01327 858092 extension 227.

right next to the circuit. a bit more expensive but nice and clean, loads of parties (jamiroquai had his motorhome on whittlebury last year) and the place to be!

not sure if theres any spaces now though....
