mega_stream 23 June 2002 08:16 AM

Dark Blue Mark 23 June 2002 12:09 PM

Just run in. I wouldn't think twice about buying it, just got a 99 for 12,500.

Saxo boy.... Good one here!

It surely must be £19,995. The mileage is not that high really. If it is £10k I will buy it tomorrow am :)

DW

Dream Weaver 23 June 2002 12:20 PM

They have another for £18k with 18k miles, so maybe the price is right.

tonybooth 25 June 2002 09:10 PM

C'mon then who bought it? I e-mailed the dealer Sunday night and called them first thing Monday morning only to be told that there were 3 blokes already there waiting to buy it!!!

Someone has bagged themselves a bargain.

TONY

chiark 25 June 2002 09:19 PM

Bloody hell! Bargain central!

(Kryten - where did yours end up with its "restyling"? )

SCOOBERATORS 25 June 2002 09:19 PM

This is the ideal car for someone who asen`t got alot to spend on a subaru who will only be using it for the odd day out .
Then in 3-4 years the milage will become average and will probably be only worth a few quid less than it is now.
What a bargain for this LTD Edition. :D

Got to be snapped up by now.

Dream Weaver 25 June 2002 11:10 PM

Scooberators - Exactly why I tried to buy it on Monday morning :( I only do about 7k miles a year so it would have been perfect for me. Had it all agreed with the missus, and she even said she would pay half of the cost

Rang them though first thing Monday and it had gone :( Deeply gutted as I was well after it and would have driven down with cash yesterday :(

Richard.S 25 June 2002 11:42 PM

Well I tried to let y'all know as soon as I saw the ad - thought someone would be genuinely interested.

Rich :)

Dream Weaver 26 June 2002 09:51 AM

Cheers Richard - good work :)

suba 26 June 2002 10:35 AM

wonder who the lucky driver who snapped it up?

MattN 26 June 2002 11:34 AM

offer them 11k for the other one?

chiark 26 June 2002 02:07 PM

Simon, gutted for you :( . Better luck next time.

Dream Weaver 26 June 2002 02:10 PM

Well, probably the best thing anyway - getting married next July and so far haven't saved up a penny, compared to the fiancee's £2k - oops

So probably shouldn't be buying cars spur of the moment :D:D

DW

Richard.S 26 June 2002 03:01 PM

you should! (best time to buy a car!) :D

MattN 26 June 2002 03:16 PM

was there anything not quite right about it?

I know it's up on miles but it's not like a dealer to give a car away - esp if they have another for 8k more. to me it looks like they want shot of it because these cars can't take high mileages?well :)

suba 26 June 2002 04:31 PM

still drooling over it...

Richard.S 26 June 2002 05:04 PM

but it's been sold! (I suppose you can still drool...)

Right, will whoever bought the car own up and post a few words on here! We wanna know what's wrong with it! :D

carl 26 June 2002 06:16 PM

I have a MY00 (Jan 2000) with <70k (and aircon) that I was thinking of putting up for sale at around 10k in the next few months. OK, it's only just less than 70k (69.8k :D). I was thinking I'd have to PX it as no-one would be interested in it at that mileage.

HKSubaru 26 June 2002 06:16 PM

not a limited edition! :D

carl 26 June 2002 06:18 PM

It's the only one owned by me, which makes it limited to an edition of 1 :D

Seriously, it's a year newer.

MattN 26 June 2002 10:48 PM

the fact they have another for 8k more.

I know mileage has a big impact but the car is still the same age as the other (i think). Near enough 50% off off above ave miles seems high from a dealer.

carl 26 June 2002 11:19 PM

Glass's trade prices for an 1999 'T'-plate (they don't have prices for the RB5) with 38k miles:
Retail: 14210
Excellent: 12000
Good: 10750
Fair: 9580
and with 80k miles:
Retail: 11600
Excellent: 9110
Good: 8180
Fair: 7280

So the difference the mileage makes isn't that much.

hoojchoons 26 June 2002 11:27 PM

I'll come clean..... it was me! :) Pick it up next week.

Chuffed to bits, it's a good 1!

Off to Glastonbury tomorrow.... will give you all the full story when I'm back next week.

carl 26 June 2002 11:33 PM

Seems to be below retail price, so a bargain. The 90k service will set you back 700 quid though  (but not me, I got stiffed for it at 60k so now won't have it until 120k).
