My 1999 Sti will be 3 years old next year. It's got a bloody great HKS Super Dragger exhaust and De-Cat pipe on it which were there when i got it.
So what happens at the MOT, am i going to be scratching round trying to find a cat? If so, where...? ANyone else faced this problem? Russ |
Talk to Mark at Tyres Northampton........he will explain the solution http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Dont know if its true or not but i was told by a mot tester that if the car is a import that was not destined for this country it should be tested as having no cat.
Try ringing the number on the back of a old mot certififcate and see what they say. |
Sounds expensive! Why the huuuge smile?
|
No, not expensive - there are "loan" cats around available for hire for an MOT if you get my meaning.....
|
Scoobynutter - yes you are totally correct, I forgot this......imports go through a different procedure.
|
I really hoped you'd say that!
My thoughts were that if the car wasn't ever sold in this country that there's no spec for cat/emissions. Cheers guys! Russ |
