Nuts, warped my discs slowing from 120 down to 70 (on a private track, of course) what are my options? I have 16" STi alloys on a MY93 WRX and want the cheapest solution thats better than stock.

TIA

I take it you mean KMH?? ;)
Ive a friend who has tar-ox replacement discs on his car (MY00 turbo) with mintex 1144 pads, says the improvement is well worth the money he spent (just around 200 quid all in) but they are like 20+ groved discs and eat pads ooooooops!
Try www.scoobyworld.co.uk or www.scoobymania.co.uk for replacement discs and pads, both are reasonably priced, not sure about scoobysport but check them out too www.scoobysport.co.uk

Actually, after letting them cool for half an hour, they seemed to be OK, weird

£200 for a pair of TarOx discs ain't bad, I definately feel the brakes let the car down at the moment, difficult to committ when you're not sure if you can stop in time ;)

And of course I meant Km/h, it's an import ;) :D

Could have been gas build up between the pad and the disk. If the pads are getting a little low (hence less mass) they will absorb a lot of heat from the braking at high speeds and often gas builds up between pad and disk giving the 'judder' that makes you think you've just shagged your disks.

If you have warped you disks then they remain warped. The juddering usually only rears its ugly head when the disks get really hot again. As Saxo Boy says it may be a gas build up in which case no warp.

Stock Scooby disks are not really upto the job, did two sets of disks in 40K, no track use.

I hope you mean KMH not MPH or, as a moderator i would have to ban you from this BBS, delete this post then report you to plod ;)
