Sensor lever on left hand front suspension arm?

Hi,

I have a 2008 WRX-S, which I have had from new. Due to some noise (which turned out to be a stone caught in the disk brake) I had to take of the front left wheel, and spotted something broken in the left hand front wheel arch. It would seem to be some sort of lever that goes to a rotary sensor. It would seem to measure the deflection of the suspension arm, but I cannot see a matching sensor on the other side, and nothing in the rear left side either.

I thought it might be something to do do with the headlight levelling set-up,m but I found a circuit schematic that does not appear to have such a sensor. I've also checked the ABS, in case it was something to do with sensing weight transfer, but nothing so clever in the manual there either, and I can't find any mention of it in the suspension section either, where you would think there would be at least a passing mention about it.

So resorting to you guys for some help. I have no idea how long it has been like this. Wheel hasn't been off since the MOT last year.

Thanks.

Auto Headlamp levelling sensors
MY2008 and 2009 have both a front and rear.
The diagram you were looking at was probably American
