2006 N/A Impreza Fault Code Delete?

Hi all. I've got a 2006 N/A Hawkeye Impreza with the 2.0l engine. I was having problems with the secondary air system fault codes popping up constantly, spent loads of money with a Subaru dealer to try and fix it with no luck (lesson 1 learned, Subaru dealers don't know anything about older models). So I went to a local trusted mechanic who I've used for my past cars; boring stuff like Volvos and Fords. He's great for everyday stuff, and lets me help and learn. He assured me his mate could map any car, so we replaced the exhaust as it needed doing, the intake because we could, and took the secondary air system out assuming that when it got mapped we could delete the fault code, problem solved.

Turns out these Hitachi ECUs on N/A cars really don't like being fiddled with. My mechanics mate flat out said he doesn't touch Subarus; cue huge apologies from my mechanic (lesson 2 learned, go to specialists for Subaru tuning advice). I've had a few other avenues of investigation come up blank, with most places recommending another tuning company. The guys down at EngineTuner have had it in, and they're fantastic, but unfortunately couldn't write to the ECU either, only read it.

The only lead I've now got is Tactrix Openport 2.0. Does anyone have any experience doing fault codes with one of these? Does anyone know of anyone in the UK that has one and would be willing to look at the car for me?

As it stands I've 5-6 months before my MOT, and my CEL can't be tuned off as the fault pops instantly. Even if I put the secondary air system back on, there's a fault in it somewhere. I'd like to try and sort this out this year if possible otherwise getting through the MOT could be interesting.
