Subaru sports cat
Hi guys
What sports cats are people running. Looking at getting one to put on for the mot saves having to rely on mates to sort one out for us all the time Most of the ones we have looked at say This is a non type approved CAT and as such will not pass an MOT so is sold for off road use only |
A two hundred cell one passes when it’s warm , i don’t think you will get many approved ones , I’ve not had a mot issue with mine , the prices vary a lot from japspeed 250£ or so , to prodrive used ones on ebay to the more expensive hayward and scott , your budget your call you do pay for what you get 👍😁

I have a japspeed on mine , it’s left on there not just for mots , had it a few years now with no issues , they are depending on model 225£ or so on ebay , i can’t be bothered to swap mine out , plus would effect the map as it’s mapped with the sports cat in place 👍

no not really ,just normal drive to mot station and it passed
|
As above i try and do a drive then straight in for the test , if that’s not worked rev it at around 3 to 4 k for 30 seconds to a minute and that will warm it enough to pass 👍
|
My 100 cell sports cat takes ages to warm up, is a pain, need to take the car for a long fast drive to get upto temperature.
Just bought a Japspeed 200 cell so hoping that will pass fine, shouldn't need warming up much, will also heat wrap it aswell. Had 200 cell ones on other Impreza's and not really had an issue. One put engine light on, kept on turning it off, until it stopped coming back on again lol. |
I can recommend the Cobra sports cat that's on my Classic (200 cell).
Been through 8 MOTs without a mention. |
Cheers guys cars mot for another year 😀
