Best suspension setup 2001 Bug sti wagon

Hi I'm just trying to find the very best fast road setup for my 2001 bug sti wagon. Planning on keeping the red KYB struts at the mo and replacing springs with an uprated kit but struggling for info on spring rate for the rear as it's slightly different for the wagon than the saloon. My other scoob is blob wrx wagon with Meister R Zeta CRDs which handles very well now especially with 8" wheels but still bangs a fair bit on rough surfaces so was going try eliminate this crashing but try to replacate the handling ability.of the coilovers using the original struts. Not sure if it's possible, can't find the correct spring rate for the Eibach kit for a wagon so looking into whiteline kit atm and will also consult Chevron Motorsport in Stafford. Might wind up spending a lot on some high end coilovers in the end anyway but any input on this would be appreciated !!

ask 2pot about springs,
i run meisterR gt1's on my Hawk sti on softest settings, would prefer to have them more plush but for newages there is nothing better on the market for UK roads, rear was to stiff for me on oem setup

Hi, ok thanks. Do you reckon the GT-1s are a far superior setup compared to the OEM KYBs with spring upgrade kit pls and are they more track focussed or designed to be dual purpose ? They're twice the price of the Zeta CRDs but I'm willing to spend the money if there's a big difference to the handling. I eventually got fed up with the CRDs on my WRX on the rough roads around here although great for fast corners but trying to head towards more progressive springs and something that tracks the bumps better and steer away from linear setups. Cheers..

I bought mine on black Friday, it was 10% off instead of 20% from previous years. If You upgrade springs than ride will be firmer than oem where in my feeling gt1's are softer than oem on softest settings, crd are 8/7 springs rate where gt1's are 6/5 plus different valve setup. I had crd and gt1 have something extra ,more comfy. Do not have brain shots( difficult to explain ,something like brain hitting scull on uneven road surface) on softest settings but had them with 15/13 from hard, better with 20/15 but to bouncy think it should be no more than 2-3 clicks between front/ rear

After abit of research the main difference seems to be the CNC machined parts in the GT1s the springs seem to be the same 6/5 rate ,housings are the same , maybe better oil and bumpstops

8/7 for sti , Yes gt1 comes with sdd valve, they improved it last year. Not sure body is the same ,setup similar to ohlins dfv but ohlins does not make them for newage cars.
