Silver gear surround
 

Looking for advice on how to refresh and refurbish the silver gear surround on my Blobeye WRX/STI and if indeed it is possible to do this mine is covered in scratches and generally looks worn and I would like to return it to looking half decent.

do you mean the whole part with the ashtray attached or just the bezel that goes around the boot?

A guy I know removed the whole middle trim section, wet sanded it back with fine sand paper (800 or 1000 grit) , use some plastic primer and silver paint with a light clear coat over the top, and it come up pretty good.

Just the silver bit around the actual gear stick that is embossed with STI on it. Thanks I will give that a go.

under paint its an alloy,remove paint ,polish it than it will look better than new
