r180 rear driveshaft interchangeability
Hi All,
I have searched and can't find a def answer. Are all GD r180 rear driveshafts interchangeable? Reason being to try and source second hand rather than shelling out for new. I can't find any after market rear drive shafts. Some sellers say they will work. Other say they won't such as US sellers. it appears between the 114.5 PCD and 100 PCD there is a 5mm difference in rear driveshaft length that I can see from the SKF website https://vehicleaftermarket.skf.com/int/en/products/VKJC7566 which is replacement OE ref 28421-FE231, 28421-FE232. these part numbers on other websites also indicate they superseded 28421FE020 and 28421FE021 which are the part numbers for the bugeye STI (of which I am trying to find replacements for). VS https://vehicleaftermarket.skf.com/u...ducts/VKJC7567 which are replacements for the OE - 28421-FE240, 28421-FE241 Can later model r180 rear shafts be used in the early r180 5x100PCD rear end? The subaru part number for the above part numbers all use the same Hub and wheel bearing part number from years 2001 to 2006 on JDM part Fiches. Other than the 5mm length difference I can't see how they are different. Would a 5mm longer shaft be an issue in a bugeye? I gather when suspension bottoms you could run into issues? Any help much appreciated. |
