Forester sg5 engine won't start

Hello guys any advice please my forester sg5 stop starting yesterday I've check for a code and crankshaft senzor says was faulty I change sensor and car won't start again I've checked all fuze and all sensor on the engine bay and all have 12v only crankshaft sensor is 0v I have no power on the wires to the crankshaft sensor

Neil XR 19 June 2022 08:45 AM

The crankshaft sensor produces voltage and counts the position of the Reeth on crank timing wheel, it doesn't recieve a voltage, if unplugged to test with Ign on, ecu will record it as fault condition

Best thing to do is clear all codes and try starting it then check codes again

You don't mention what model year (MY) or whether it's an EDM or JDM model SG5 or what DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) you had/have.

Find pdf attached info for P0335 and P0336 as per MY04 EDM model

When you put the key in the ignition does the ECU immobiliser indicator turn off?? (Red key symbol on dash)

When you say "it doesn't start" what actually happens when you turn the ignition key to the start position??
Does it turn over ??
Does it turn over but not fire??

Tomorrow I will take the key to check for immobilizer

Have you put the old sensor back on to see if it starts?
Could be wrong or faulty sensor if the old one works.

Could be a problem with the Immobiliser ECU or MB Fuse SBF #5.

Do you get a door open warning light on the dash?
If both not working you may have a blown link on the combimeter or Main Fuse board Fuse #2
See attached (I've assumed it RHD)

The open door warning is on yes. Also no blinking lights when I turn switch on somebody says if any lights blinks on dashboard may be the immobilizer
