Clunking from rear diff

Hello everyone

I have a YouTube link to my car on a ramp. Its making a clunking noise from the diff area.

Its an 04 sti impreza with 65k miles.

Just wondering what this could be?

Well there's one thing if that is the diff it sounds empty. Check the driveshaft nuts are tight.

Are rear diffs weak on these? This car has 65k miles and no track days.

Not as a rule.

Frustrating. The bolts are all ok but there was metal in the oil. I think the mechanics want to take it off and send it to a specialist. One of those things I guess.
