Classic MY00 - Tone ring /CV joint question

Am I right in thinking that the ABS tone ring is built into the CV joint on my car ?

I'm getting a graunching noise from the front left on lock one way under gentle power at low speed ? I seem to remember the garage I used to use before I moved saying that all classics apart from the 2000 model year had separate tone rings ?

Or can I clean it up ... ?

Check your wheel bearings. Push the pistons back in on the calipers before you do.

Will get them to have a look when its in for its MOT. I had a front bearing go on my old Audi last year and it was nothing like this, which is only at very low speeds, whereas the Audi got worse over 40mph and you could tell which side of the car was under load by the noise. Thanks. Any ideas on the Tone ring in case its that ?

If it was you're tone ring it would of ate the end of you're sensor. Have you any ABS lights.
