The more important question to help you, is which year (UK or JDM) WRX are you looking at fitting this in?? |
Its the UK WRX 2002, The bugeye one
|
UK bugeye WRX comes with a TY754VN2AA transmission
https://legacypic.uk/transmission/se...ype=ty754vn2aa Assuming the car at the time of failure had original spec drive train. To fit quoted box, you would need to change the rear diff as well to match the final drive ratios. OEM spec TY754VN2AA https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...6c15e92079.png Proposed TY754VBBBA https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...26ab769bf2.png |
in general terms all of the TY754 5spd boxes are the same strength............simply get the correct UK ratio box to solve
|
Yeah thanks for that, I did also get a rear differential when buying the gearbox, do you think it can push for 350hp around 400lbs/ft as I heard that as it is the Japanese gearbox they are strong er and not as weak as the UK Spec ones,
thanks |
as above there is no real difference UK to JDM in terms of strength........
most 754's will do 350+ no issue - unlikely you get near 400lbs/ft unless you have gone 2.5?? |
Nah it has Latest EJ20 semi closed 2.0, it it running around 350hp+ haven't dyno'd yet, so you are saying the JDM gearbox will be just fine. I don't rag the car around, never done a single launch, however I do the occasional pull starting in 2nd but that's what these cars are for.
