Super reliable watch.

I have a 1990 G-Shock 5600C sitting in my bedside drawer, bought from new, well used/abused and if I stuck a battery in it, would carry on working perfectly. Only replaced it when Apple Watch came out

Best reply on Amazon questions

”is it shock resistant”

”yes. It saw my wife’s credit card bill and it’s still going “

Lozgti2 28 August 2022 12:07 PM

Ok, upgraded to one up. Solar power and atomic clock set.

pros

Tells the time. To the second
Waterproof 200m
Solar. No battery ever again

Cons

wont tell me when to go to the toilet
wont tell me when my heart will give out or my pulse is nil
Wont tell me how many lengths I have done in the pool (even I can count to 3)
Wont tell me when I need to breathe
wont let me have eternal battery life

Really buggered up paying £60 not £600. Eejut

I always wonder why people need a watch that's waterproof to 200m. Unless you're into extreme technical diving or saturation diving, you're never going anywhere near those depths and these days divers would rarely dive with a watch anyway, just a dive computer (or two). As an experienced sport diving instructor, I've never been deeper than 35m and have no intention of going any deeper than that. Waterproof to 50m would be more than I ever need!

Lol, so true.

However, even claimed 30m water resist. ( what’s that in old money, 300 feet? ) they warn you might not stand up to shower or washing your hands. Crazy. But yep, agree, I’m never going down 200m unless it’s in a sub 😁

Aprox 1:3.3, so 30m ~= 100ft

I once went down below 30m without quite realizing it

that’s the max depth for advanced diver if I recall
