Impreza WRX 430bhp £12500 Forged/APs/PPG Gearbox
 

For sale is my low mile 2002 Impreza WRX.

This example has covered a shade over 31k from new and has been extensively modified back in 2008.

Running a proven 430/430 I can assure you it really shifts even by todays standards. 2nd and 3rd are savage on full boost.

All modifications have only covered 5k since the work has been done.

In my ownership I have sorted some niggles with the biggest one being the head bolts. After carrying out my weekly fluid level checks I noted that the coolant overflow was over the max line from cold which turned out to be a result of the updated head bolts stretching under full boost which resulted in head lift.

Fortunately for me I caught it at its very earliest possible stage. £2300 later I had the newest design head gaskets plus all the others and stronger head bolts fitted to cure the problem.

Combine that with a new fly wheel, radiator, PIA wipers, major service to include cambelt, all fluids to include correct gearbox fluid. I’m knocking close if not more than 4K keeping the car running as it should.

All the above has been done within the last 2000 miles.

Car is in great condition with original paint all round excluding the front bumper which was painted by the previous owner before I purchased the car back in October 2020.

Previous owner removed the car from use and stored for many years hence the low miles.

Minimal stone chips, no door dents, no scratches.

Wheels could do with being refurbished as they have never been done.

All inner rear 1/4 panels are rot free as are the towers. 2 very small bubbles on the lower corner where it meet bumper but they are small and certainly not bad. However this is something I wanted to get sorted but obviously I have decided to sell as i now have its replacement.



Spec

- SC450 package with the following spec/parts fitted.
- 2.5 litre fully forged engine
- 2.5 litre AVCS cylinder heads
- SC50 turbo
- Hyperflow FMIC
- Front mounted oil cooler HKS
- Syvecs S6 ecu running mafless with Lc & Als
- PPG helical cut gears 1 to 4 with standard uk 5th
- Paddle clutch
- 2.5 inch straight through exhaust system, Blitz Nur Spec back box.
- Wrapped headers
- Twin trumpet BOV
- Defi gauges, oil temp, oil pressure, boost , 52mm dia, in white with defi 2 controller.
- Fuel pressure regulator
- Fuel pump

The above cost just under 18 grand.

The following parts are also fitted but were not part of SC450 package.

- AP Racing red 6 pot front brakes with 2 piece discs, 335mm diameter
- AP Racing red 4 pot rear brakes with a 1 piece discs, 330mm diameter
- Godspeed thicker hand brake shoes.
- KW version 1 inoxline coilover adjustable suspension with oe top mounts
- CDF Racing front & rear droplinks
- Whiteline rear ARB
- Front strut brace
- Bosch s4 battery ( new )

- Front bumper splitter ( Scoobyworld )
- STI front grill oe
- STI head lamps with HID dip beam
- Side skirt & rear bumper additions
- STI 7 boot lid spoiler oe
- SC450 decals

This is one hell of a car, loud, lovely PPG gearbox, really quick and is certainly a awesome reminder of how good cars used to be before all this modern crap came about with DSG boxes etc.

Price is £12500 which I appreciate is approaching STI money but for what I’m asking In todays market, that would buy you a dog. You would have to spend a serious amount of cash to make a Bug/Blob/Hawk to get it to this spec.
