Driver side Rocker cover gasket kit

Hi all,

2007 2.5 STi.
Ok, so I've had enough now of the barbecued oil smell where oil is leaking onto the exhaust manifold.

Looks like ICP are out of stock.
Can anyone suggest where I can get a genuine driver side rocker cover gasket with spark plug seals and bolt seals online?
Ideally genuine, or decent aftermarket like FelPro perhaps?

Many thanks.

Emailing works too.

I bought 2 set in error.

You can have it for £56 posted - you cover fees and I'll get it out today.

If it's the right kit of course

Hi Robsy,

Thank you, I did search for your thread yesterday but saw that yours is for a 2.0 so I'm not sure it will fit? If it does I'll gladly buy it from you.

Is there a difference between this kit and the 2.5 kit?

RobsyUK 04 December 2021 06:56 AM

I don't think there is. I'm sure @Don Clark would confirm.
If you're local to Milton Keynes you could collect today and install tomorrow 😉

Hawkeye D 04 December 2021 07:22 AM

I could collect today yes, but looks different sadly, maybe Don can confirm.... :

Hawkeye D 04 December 2021 07:55 AM

Hahah maybe! lol

How about this one? In stock and with sealant, non genuine, but can't imagine ICP sell rubbish, it lists STI EJ25 :

They would seem to be correct, cross checking part numbers for models listed

I got non genuine from and both are leaking 6 months on. I assumed ICP only sold genuine and didn't think to ask for genuine when I rang.
every thread on here says only buy genuine so I went genuine second time around.

Would doing them in this very cold conditions effect the sealing?

Hawkeye D 04 December 2021 09:58 AM

Oh crumbs that doesn't sound good. I've not ordered them.

I can nose the car into the garage and set up a fan heater most likely pointing into the wheel arch to warm up the ambient air.
Thanks for the heads up Rob!

Just spoke to Alyn, he sounded very decent and helpful. He's asked that I email him with my name / address then he'll call me for payment.

The email link on his website won't take me through to my yahoo, can anybody tell me his email?

Thank you,

Just be really careful doing those shouldered bolts up.
I snapped one.
Once you've done the job you will probably still get oil burning smell.
when you take covers off the oil runs under engine block so take a rag and clean as much as possible.
If you have original undertray on then it has some wadding material that could also be saturated with oil which will cause the smell also.

Yes I've seen those bolts need only a slight nip really.
Did you do yours all from above, or did you have to go underneath for the bottom bolts? - so close to the chassis leg.

Some people even jack the engine up at an angle, I don't fancy trying that one.
I was also going to use some silicone / three bond grey sealant, but Alyn said I shouldn't need to as the new gasket will be nice and soft.

Being a 2007, my bolts don't have the round seals as the gasket sits within the bolt pattern - good, less items for me to drop / curse!!

stamina_daddy 05 December 2021 07:44 PM

I jacked car up like when changing a wheel just so the oil in head doesn't run out as much.
all done from top.
Nice small socket set.
There is a subaru manual that shows where to put 3 bond on here somewhere.
It's only on a few specific areas near half moons.

stamina_daddy 05 December 2021 07:49 PM

I think I had to use a small 10mm spanner on one of the lower bolts as it was just easier
