Whats the best oil, coolant and plugs etc on a forged engine ?

I guess people will have different opinions, what's the best servicing items like oil, coolant and plugs etc to use on a UK 2.5 engine that's been forged and is currently running 437bhp and has covered just over 3k since it was forged. The previous owner gave me a 1 lire bottle of what oil is currently in it which is SilverLine 10W-50 which is what East Kent Subaru apparently use on all their engines which is where the car was looked after.

I’ve got forge 2.5 running 433bhp using
K&N HP1010 oil filter
Fuchs Titan Race Pro S 10W-50 oil
NGK ILFR7H plugs
Coma Xstream G30 coolant

AS recommended me 10w50 on a forged 2.1 and sold me the motul, I don't doubt their expertise. Always used comma g30 for coolant, used some expensive blue stuff from opie once but didn't see any difference in temp and comma is like half the price

I’ve been running fuchs pro r or pro s for the duration of my engines life, ngk plugs and halfords pink coolant, recently added some water wetter but can’t say I’ve noticed any obvious differences.

it’s a bit of a what’s the best oil debate , very simply don’t buy cheap , and use known branded parts , and it will be fine , i’m more inclined towards a 10/40 but have used 10/50 300v oil , i now use millers cfs nano dive , it’s better priced and have had no issues with it , a quality long life coolant even euro car parts stock decent stuff , and again quality platinum tipped plugs

no its not that simply ,there is a well known company where their product is not what they advertise but court rules things on their favour, money wins
there is some issue with millers nt+ to ,silkolene recycled oil and list goes on

I've always used this in my forged 2.5
Millers Oils CFS 10w-60 Competition Fully Synthetic Engine Oil

Changed every 3,500 to 4,500 miles.

The late, great Harvey Smith used Royal Purple oil.
That's what's in my forged 98 car.

and RP is available from the same guys that supply the "trick" up-pipes.............as well as other quality options ;)

I had my car mapped by Bob last week, for my engine he recommended Fuchs Titan Race Pro S 10W-50 Ester Fully Synthetic, and for plugs NGK ILFR7H, that's what i'll be going with.

I've used Fuchs titan Pro 10-50 and Ravenol 5-50. The Ravenol was recommended by Andy Williams and when I did some research on it, it seems to be a really good oil. You can buy it direct from them and they also do a blue light discount which is a bonus for me as my wife has one. :)

You may want to check out this recent post on another forum. There is a significant amount of information on oil choice in the later half of the thread (forget about the first few pages) https://www.type-ra.com/subaru-forum...-spec-c.35198/

That's deffo an interesting debate lol, i'm only half way through and its got a bit heated. You've obviously read the whole thread Adam, what was the consensus with the oil, i.e what viscosity to use and what brand etc ........ I'm upto the bit where someone suggested 10W 60, ive deffo not heard that suggested before.

Depends on usage but it seems like you can’t go far wrong with the Millers 10-50
