2.0l JDM Hawkeye STI ULEZ compliant?
 
Hi all,

Does anyone know if the JDM Hawkeye STI 2.0l engine is ULEZ compliant?

Reason I ask is because I'm looking to get back into one very shortly but after checking on the TFL website, it show as non-compliant?
Strange thing is that is I enter a different number plate of the same model (thanks auto trader) they come up as compliant.

So wanted to ask any other 2.0l JDM owners on here if theirs is compliant and whether I should go down the route of getting it registered with TFL for being compliant.

Need to check the NOx emmission on the JDMs if it is under 0.08 it will be ULEZ compliant the 03+ 2.0 UK STIs are ULEZ compliant.

My 2.0 JDM hatchback is ULEZ compliant.

ULEZ is primarily determined by year so if the car was registered in 2006 or later it is more likely to be compliant.

Fresh imports are also more likely to be compliant as there is no information in DVLA’s database on the model on first registration. Beware, though, that when transferred to the next owner the car my be flagged as non-compliant as records are updated when the V5 is sent in. Ask me how I know.

This is what I thought, as I know the car is in the lower road tax bracket, so not sure why its not coming up as non-compliant?
I will probably wait to get the car and check the V5. Its possible the entry is missing on the V5 or will have to ask the DVLA to update the NOx correctly maybe.

ULEZ uses Jan 2006 as its primary determinant of compliance. That's when Euro 4 became mandatory therefore if your car was registered before then it is more likely to be considered non-compliant.

I bought a GC8 that was first registered in Jul 2020 but is obviously much older than that. I checked it on TfL's ULEZ online system multiple times and it came up as compliant every time. After I sent the V5 to DVLA to record change of keep its status changed to non-compliant.

if you follow that link to the TFL website will also tell you age of car is not relevant its based on NOx emissions and also particulate matter Ive not imported a car before so do not know what information is on V5 but usually its written on the V5.

As I understand it Jan 2006 is relevant which explains why the exact same model comes up as compliant if registered after that date but non-compliant if registered before.

Happy to be contradicted by someone closer to ULEZ policy but this would answer OP’s question as to why some cars of the exact same model are non-compliant and others are.

Some cars satisfy the euro 4 nox requirement before 2006 that is why they are ULEZ compliant such as the ep3 type r, blobeye sti and others. All cars made after 2006 are euro 4 compliant because it was a condition for them to be able to sell the cars in the UK. Lastly OP even if your car is euro 3 it may still be ULEZ compliant so try to find official nox figures for your car and send it to TFL and you will be golden

I wonder if anyone has any thoughts...I have a 2003 spec c.

V5 incorrectly logged the car as an impreza gl. Put my number plate into the ulez checker and non compliant. Contacted dvla and they told me they need Subaru uk to tell them what the car was. Haven’t tried that as didn’t think they would be up for supporting the import market.

ideas? Or gbp12.50 whenever I move it from October...thanks

That would be manna for me, Akram. I have a 2001 Bugeye STi Wagon. Can;'t find the official figures for it - any idea where I can find the figures I need?

as above regards eurocert , mine was jdm on a 55 plate non ulez , easy process 165£ later now it’s ulez compliant , i expect ulez will expand😁 as tfl are making money out of it 👍

I've ordered my coc from eurocert too now, based off the info in the other thread. Fingers crossed it should all be done in the next few days.
