Noob corner, Supercharger whine?

Hi, new the Scoob world but happy to back in Jap.

shes had plenty of work done such as a lightened flywheel among many. i get that it causes the revs to die off very quickly, hurt cruising eco (ba, eco...) but give good throttle response. as this is my first scooby, has the TY754VBAAA gearbox and is shared with various Sti years, would that be responsible for a supercharger kind of whine? only been in one STi and i recall around 50k mileage and a very loud SC-like whine at all times.

the chappy who sold it seems to havedone plenty of homework a suspsected a diff bearing which he gave to me. it's louder at low revs but as the turbos spool, cant really hear it. he also provided a second gearbox that came with the sale so i prey all is well for now! im led to beleive that the box and engine are near enough 100k. yes, cambelt is booked. the current one does not crunch at all, ease into all gears, pulls very well in every gear.

PS, i'll post this in the right area after!! just making a first impression...

Will post the pics after a moachine polish and protective coat.
