Power steering pump advice (hatch)

Mine has been leaking for awhile now, I tried a new o'ring but that didn't fix the leak. I've since been told by a garage that it's leaking from behind the pulley wheel.

I've just picked a replacement one up today and was wondering does anyone have any advice when replacing one of these? any tips or tricks that might help? Or any other parts that I should replace like washers? It looks pretty straightforward but I thought I'd ask before I tackle it.

You've probably already done this and worked it out yourself but be very careful with the bolts, they're easy to strip the threads on when re-installing into the block. There's a bolt on the top which needs a few ancillaries removed to get at, and wobble extensions will make your life a lot easier. Also, you won't lose loads of fluid but you're best to wrap an old (and disposable) towel around the pump to save what does come out the pipes going everywhere. Aside from that it's a pretty straightforward job, I've got it down to about half an hour now.

Thanks both, yes it wasn't too bad, my main issue was access to the rear mounting bolt. It's all sorted now:thumb:
