P0244 - gb270

I just bought a gb270 a few months ago and I have found that every so often when I put my foot down (1.5 bar of boost) the car cuts fuel/boost and then it's okay a second or so later. It throws up a (p0244) code when that happens. It also sometimes limits the boost pressure to 0.4 bar and it won't go past that. It seems to happen more in 4th and 5th.

The car is a gb270 (2.5 turbo) it has the k&n apollo induction kit, forge dump valve, turbo back jap speed exhaust and a remap from Duncan Graham. (All the mods where done before I bought the car)

does anyone have any ideas on what's most likely or what I can do to fix it? I have spoke to Duncan about it and he reccomend I go down and see him but as I'm quite far away I was hoping someone might have some ideas before I say I'll go down that far. Thanks

Clean your boost solenoid.

Check for split pipes.
could be a faulty bcs or poor map.

Do you know of a simple way to check for split pipes such as a way leak testing?

do you know of a simple way to clean the boost solenoid or is it a case of just taking it off and spraying some form of cleaner through it and letting it soak?

Smoke test.
or visual check.
If it's not overboosing/fuel cut in 1-3 then unlikely to be bad pipes.
4-5 Will be under more load and with cold/high baro pressure it's more likely to be a poor tune with no headroom and boost creep or det.

From looking at the car more in depth i can see the car has the front 02 sensor removed and the car has been previously mapped. at a guess i think the the previous owner has removed the cat and fried the 02 sensor which between the decat and no 02 sensor is now causing the fault. i have heard quite a few people have has this over boost problem after mapping. i am waiting to here back the from the person that the previous owner got to map the car to see if they can look at the map/tweak it so if that's whats causing this problem or if they can solve the problem.
