Probably nothing, as the actual impeachment process is basically a trial in front of the Senate, which is controlled by his party. With the crazy politics they have in the US, it might even help him get reelected in 2020.

As above, they are very unlikely to succeed with the impeachment as it requires a two thirds majority (important decisions should always require a qualifying majority not 52/48%) in the senate. The republicans control the senate by (IIRC) 4 seats and they still broadly support Trump, so it's unlikely they will even get a simple majority and two thirds would be neigh on impossible!

If he were impeached, then he would no longer be President and would be replaced by the vice President, Mike Pence, who by all accounts is even more crazy than Trump which is another reason why the republicans won't support the impeachment! Once he is no longer President, then he could also face criminal charges which can't be brought while he is still in office.

But if he is impeached and removed from office, President Pence could pardon him and then he is free from prosecution.

Sounds like the Radio 4 'Dead Ringers' show - absolutely cracks me up....

Both the Trump impression - its great, so great, the greatest (so great!)
and the Andrew Neill/Diane Abbott sketches - Androooo, Jeremeeeeee

So funny!
And the Election Special show they did last week had me in bits driving home the other night.
Look for it on BBC Friday Night Comedy Podcasts if you are interested. - well recommended :thumb:

after following it for a while short version is there's no real direct evidence except trump telling the main witness no prit pro quo, which is whats its all about. It's basically a political hatchet job.

Dem's know they cant beat him at the polls so they hoped to make enough mud to stick to either swing the vote or get him out, neither is working as its now swung back the other way and polls are suggesting (although take them with a pinch of salt) that its actually made trump more popular.

So expect another 4 years of trump.

Yep, it's all just a big witch hunt.

The term is "quid pro quo" by the way!

The senate will not push it through. He will get back in through the electoral college again, not through popularity. The majority think he is a c#nt. There are a lot of lunatics out here of course - mostly of the evangelical religious type, but not enough to get him the popular vote.

It's mental.
