Which MAF for JDM GF8?

I’ve recently had some rough running issues along with an intermittent fault code 23 (MAF) on my ‘97/‘98 JDM WRX wagon.

The MAF currently on the car has no markings, no stickers. So I assume it is a cheap pattern part.

I’ve heard a lot of conflicting information regarding which MAF is applicable for my car. Some say purple, some say orange and some green.

Does anyone know, or have any idea which MAF I require?

I took my current cheapo MAF off the car and measured the internal diameter of the pipe (70mm) and the external diameter (80mm). But this could be the wrong size MAF to begin with, hence the rough running.

The car’s applied model number is GF8E58D with an EJ20G (EJ20GDW6NE).

Nice one Don.

I’ve read a few posts on here saying purple. But also folk saying their UK car is purple and when a purple has been fitted to a JDM it has caused issues.

ICP don’t list the purple MAF when I select my model on their site, only green or orange.

Worth a go though, if it doesn’t work then send it back I guess.

The link I posted is to the correct ICP page
