Best speak to Tim at jti

just looked on his website and the toucan specs don’t mention gems at all

FYI Toucan does support what I often call "SimTek2", to differentiate it from the pre-AlcaTek "SimTek". It started life as a GEMS based ecu but is now made by or for Simtek independent of GEMS, however they are fundamentally the same board and firmware inside.

Toucan does work with either variant but as the OP says it needs to be set up. The early GEMS ones often need a firmware upgrade - this is usually done by whoever is mapping the car.

Unfortunately I do not have the SimTek mapping software (like AlcaTek I suspect it is a closed-shop...although in the case of AlcaTek they are now to all intents and purposes literally a closed shop!!), so I can't help.

Best bet is probably to pay a mapper (Steve Simpson maybe) to sort this out. Or chop-in the Simtek for a Link G4+ which has great support, and readily available software. Or Syvecs of course...but that's more costly.
