Required to fill coolant from scratch when changing header tank?

Hi

Car is a gc8 sti v3.

Do I require to completly re fill the coolant and burp after changing the coolant header tank?
Or can i just get away with replacing lost coolant from turbo side coolant pipe (once new header tank in place)

Currently just removed header tank and pipe work, not drained entire system.....

Thanks all!

You shouldnt have any issues as it is the highest point of the system, if you mean the plastic one then you wont loose any at all as that is like an over flow.

I ended up changing the turbo coolant return hose as well. Will I be ok filling the missing coolant via the rear header tank hose or does it require to drop the remaining coolant in the engine and re fill from scratch?

Thanks

I would fill it slowly by the large hose that comes of back of header tank to turbo. This fills from the bottom up. Leave rad cap on radiator if you have one and fill very slowly from the hose.
