Driving Experiences - Recommendations

Hello everyone. I'm wanting to get on a track driving some super cars, R8, Lambo, GTR etc. Can anyone recomend any good experiences in Yorkshire / Lancashire?

Thanks

A lot of companies use multiple tracks all over the UK. I found Loughborough track to be quite good. Your best bet is to find a track then go on YouTube to watch someone driving around. Give you a good idea how good the track is. As some tracks are rubbish.

They're nice experiences but don't expect to explore the full potential of the cars. The organisers are there to make money and they want their very expensive machinery back undamaged.
Ask yourself how far would you trust a complete stranger driving your performance car?

I wouldn't recommend any of the Red Letter day type experiences. It's just driving around an oval in one gear, with a rev limiter!

The best driving experience for relatively little money is the Porsche experience at their Silverstone location. The instructor will let you explore the cars limits - to an extent. Also they have skid pans and drifting sections. I think it was 90 mins, price varies depending on the car but you can get into anything from a boxster to a 911.

Agree with this. I did the Porsche Experience in a 991.2 Carrera (my brother had a 4 GTS!) and it was superb. IIRC it was around £500 but it includes breakfast and a whole morning in the car. So long as you show you're not an idiot the instructor will encourage you to push hard and teach you the finer points of balancing the car under braking/cornering.

Sounds great but it's a massive trek from Yorkshire. Ideally somewhere closer would be good. Will look around.

Yeh as above most of these super car track days your under strick guidelines not to put your foot down at all.. I experienced this when i went a few years ago and when I challenged the instructor about this rule he replied its a “Supercar Experience” not a track day. So basically a massive waste of money driving a lambo porsche and ferrari around a track not going over 4k revs or 50-60mph! Just my two cents!

Is that a joke? I ain't spending a penny on this kind of garbage. I want the chance to properly drive the cars and enjoy what they were made to do, go fast.

No joke, most have a Kill switch, disobey instructions to change gear or braking its end of whole day, you are also assessed.

Our wives gave me and my mate 4 Car Everyman racing at Prestwold as Xmas presents. at the time was the best around.

The R8 I drove nice and smooth & curtiuos but quick, a very slow driven GTR doing 60 mph, I said ill slow up before told to, so marked very high.

Next in a "Old" gate change Ferrari 355. instructor asked, can you double declutch on downshift ? "yes".
How did you get high score? going slow for GTR!! he said better give this one more stick then, i duly obliged. :D

The GTR was on a low boost setting but still quick compared to rest, instructor let me overtake a few. Spoke to the owner after, he got quite well paid for its use.

lambo, instructor was a bit more restrictive & only let me overtake one. So all about Cars Cost ver Risk.

would i pay to do this? NO if given it free? YES,

not sure they could pay me enough to sit next to all those driving morons. :cuckoo:

Thats why No1 Silverstone , No2 Palmersport, No3 oulton Park ............ No26 supercar experiences

Any day, you drive using their car fast, it will be circa £500 to£950 dependant on time in car. if its £79 generally it will jaw droppingly bad.
