Knocking noise after new subframe fitted

Hi guys

I have a 2001 Impreza 2.0l turbo , I had the manifold headers replaced by scoobyworld around 3 years ago and they have been brilliant. 6 months ago I replaced my front u cradle subframe and now I have a knocking noise from the front end. My heat wrap has now worn through so I’m pretty sure that the headers and subframe are now banging together above 3000 revs and or when taking corners above 20 mph.
Has this ever happened to anyone else? Is it possible the engine mounts have worn making the engine sit lower or even further forward?

On tick Over the two do not touch but will under high revs when stationary

any would be great cheers Alex

your old subframe was most likely modded for clearance when the aftermarket headers were fitted and this hasn't been undertaken on the new version............

best guess

Agree 100% with Alyn's comments above - if you have GT Spec or Kakumei Unequal length headers installed then the Drivers front corner of the Subframe needs "fettled" - fold back the lip (4" towards the Centre of the car and 3" towards the rear of the car) where the top and bottom sections of the U frame have been welded together - that will give you the clearance you need

i Had a sti impreza jdm wagon , headers were changed as the old ones were falling to pieces , i had clearance issues too i think it was on two areas one an after market heat guard and from memory other was on the subframe once i found the knocking/taping area it was easily solved
