hedgecutter 08 June 2019 10:18 AM

They're not going to like the straight through all titanium one that I've got to go on my jdm hatch then!

silver-sub 08 June 2019 10:53 AM

Not good news.

Meanwhile, the Motorcycle Industry Association said cameras could reduce nuisance noise if they were used in the right way.

Chief executive Tony Campbell said: "Motorcycle manufacturers accept that they have a role to play and I think you'll see it more difficult to start tampering with vehicles in the future."

"As an industry we're playing our part," he added.

dpb 08 June 2019 01:30 PM

Chris Grayling in charge lol

It'll probably never float

Tidgy 08 June 2019 04:10 PM

So every harley davidson will fail, alot of super cars will fail so how are they going to get round that?

police state at its finest

Dreep 08 June 2019 04:52 PM

Just dip the clutch as you go past.

NOSSY_89 08 June 2019 08:06 PM

Crime is on the up and how else to boost the numbers of stopped crime by the police. Start targetting motorists.

Did you know every speed ticket from a camera is classed as a serious crime prevented. Yep thats how they report their figures. Its only when you break down the figures that you realise its a load of bull.

Think about how many speeding tickets are handed out each day including traffic cameras like no right turn etc.To me they are traffic or highway offences. Any speed can be dangerous. But where do you draw the line.

seanvx 09 June 2019 06:37 AM

We're just easy targets, why don't they spend the money on putting cameras up were they need them like dark ally ways were people are getting hurt

jaygsi 09 June 2019 07:44 AM

Or buy one of these.

I can’t see it happening , currently there are no rules in place mot wise on noise if they were i would fail lol , the police have nothing in place to deal with noise , my monaro is really loud but still road legal , how can you fine a super car driver when it came with the that loud exhaust as standard , they spoke about motorway speed limits being 80 that never happened either .. what a shame

jaygsi 10 June 2019 07:22 AM

I known a few people to get advisors on noise on there mot.

Being honest it’s been a long time coming in one shape or another.

Not cars but for me, my house reverberates from the sound of mopeds and badly silenced 50cc to 500cc singles and twins used mainly by commuters. The Chinese no name bikes are the worst as they seem to be standard yet have barely adequately silencing and just make a constant drone (especially if it’s a single speed ).

Then we have the fair weather bikers on the weekend...the worst are Harleys because for some reason they like to ride in circles for half the day...the super bikes usually are heading too/from Wales so you only hear the same bikes once, the same Harley will go past again and again and again...same goes for the quad bikes (although many of them aren’t legal anyway).

To listen you’d think I’d live in the city...nope on the edge of the green belt. And it’s got worse and worse over the past five years to the point I was going to gut the entire upstairs of my house to add extra soundproofing.

I’m being pragmatic here..there is loud and too loud. Most Supercars have bypass valves in the exhaust, so there is a way to drive them quietly in a residential area. Quads and Chinese singles/twins just drone loudly all the time regardless of how sensibly they are ridden.

Plus Nur specs sound crap always have always will. But then I’m a man that happily fit equal length headers or a twin scroll to loose that “Vw Beetle with a misfire” sound you get from the unequal headers :lol1: ( Don’t hate; I’m rarely one to follow the heard ;) :p ).

30mph , in built up areas

you really cant argue with the damage done by hitting somone at 30 v 40 mph

Vxr2010 10 June 2019 05:32 PM

A not overly loud exhaust , they can never say they did not hear you coming , i second the above about not going too fast 30 40 and 50 as that’s where you are more likely to hit some one , kill some one on a road you are looking at doing time , also the responsibility of pedestrians to check before crossing !! , plus a dash cam is a very good way forward too , most tickets for speed are by fixed cameras plus average/variable speed limits enforced by cameras , next most common is camera vans

I don't disagree mate. And where I am the speed limit is 20mph. But funny thing is it isn't on any of the bus routes. On the smart motorways you often get a speed drop from 60 to 40 with a camera right there catching loads of people out.
