White smoke on startup

Hi guys, please the photo below, I have a 98 type r with a 2.5 sti block and original V5 heads. I've noticed white smoke when I start the car then goes away after a minute or 2 after driving. I thought it could be condensation initially but after earlier today, it could be more serious... any one come across this before? Can't upload a video unfortunately

You wont get condensation this time of year as the air is warm, are you aware of the issues with the 2.5 engine?

Is your 2.5 bottom end forged or std?

Hi mate, thanks for your response... It's a stock closed deck short block (That's what I was told when I bought the car)... oil level is just below full and coolant is fine too. The smoke goes away after a few seconds from start up.

the words stock and closed deck short block do not exist for a 2.5 bud.

If you run the car for a while then park up and switch off for 5 mins, dies it do it again? Any smoke on boost?

Lol sorry I'm new to this game... so basically the engine has had a full rebuild by scooby clinic in 2017. Block is a 2.5 closed deck short block (That's what I was told), updated race bearings, new valve guides and that's about it... it's done around 12k miles since rebuild.

It doesn't do it all the time, but second time round I sometimes get just a large puff of white smoke and nothing after... i haven't noticed any smoke in boost either...

Hi Russell that's what my mechanic suggested... I'll keep an eye on oil and coolant
