Classic morettes
Hoping someone can shed some light on this as google hasn't help as i typed in my problem and it says im gonna die in a week lol.
Morettes i got have the single outer lights which the factory plug goes into which gives me dipped and full beam which is perfect but i also have a small bulb holder which has two spade connectors! Is this for sidelight? Can i convert the wiring to my original sidelights and put them into the morette lamps so i can blank off the original sidelights ie paint them?? Thanks in advance :) |
Do you have the inner lights too? if so you should have a relay which has a cable you need to connect at the battery and then splice in the "trigger" connection for high beam. you wont have a connection for side lights.

I will check mine in the morning but I expect they would have been for the inner light relay.

From the H4 are the spades coming from that? If do it will be for the relay/inner spots.

It does look like a bulb holder. Never noticed it before.

The outer lamps are not Subaru specific, so are also used in cars that don't have side lights in another position. In a Subaru you have side lights elsewhere so the bulb holder in the morette isn't used.

What ever anyone here does, do not try buy new headlights from the Morette website as the real company does not exist anymore and looks like they only con people.
https://www.trustpilot.com/review/www.morette.com Makes me sad (especially as I wanted a new pair and almost fell for it too). |
Just buy the lamps from Ebay. Think last time I ordered a set the outers were £35 a pair. The inners are expensive though at over £100.
Just go on Ebay and search 'impreza morette'. |
outers 5 3/4" Ciebie H4 from a ford capri i think. i hope to get some soon, i have Hella Inner replacements already
|
Or try here:
https://www.rallylights.com/catalogs...esult/?q=Hella I personally have never shopped there but looks like they have a big variety of Hella lamps. |
