4 Bar MAP Sensor...
Could someone tell me if there's any benefit on an aftermarket 4 Bar MAP sensor on a stock engine going for a remap?
I get the 4 Bar MAP Sensor output is different to stock so the ECU will need to be mapped to read it properly & from what I can gather; "It can read higher levels of boost" (currently not required), but more importantly "it can read boost levels more accurately than the stock pressure sensor". Anyone know if this increased accuracy is worth the £120(ish) price tag on a stock setup or only bigger turbos / high boost builds? Cheers :) |
I wouldn’t of thought it’s need on a standard engine. The standard map sensor will read up to 1.5/1.55 bar of boost |
I was going to fit a perrin 4bar map sensor to mine in the summer when I was having some work done. I was basically told that unless I wanted to run over 1.55 bar of boost I was just going to waste my money.

Thank guys, £115 to spend on other crap (like putting it towards mapping the stock engine that doesn't require a 4 Bar sensor) :lol1:
Cheers :thumb: |

Better off buying a 3 port boost solenoid. Absolutely no point in a 4 bar map sensor until you're running bigger power.
