Show season is around the corner

Evening all.
I'm just wandering if there are going to be any show stands at any of the shows this year?
Thinking of attending japfest Silverstone myself and would like to do a few more this year.
I've never actually put my car on show before (it's nothing special) but I'm keen to have a go.

Anyone got any recommendations? Or are there any subaru stands already being organised that I could maybe tag along on.

I'm based in Herefordshire in the Midlands but I'm willing to travel for a good event 😁

Steve

Hi mate,

I'm not too far from you, I'm in South Shropshire.

I've previously attended quite a few shows with various MX5 clubs. Just bought a JDM STi though, so will likely take it to most of the shows I attend this year.

I will likely be on the CombustionPunks club stand for Japfest. Have went with them the last few years. They're mostly MX5's, but open to all. A few Scoobys on there last year. Just check out their website and sign up. They're mostly Nottingham based I think.

I don't know much about specific Scooby clubs (being a newbie), but joined up with Blobsquad on Facebook. They've got a stand at Japfest, so could probably PM them for the club password.

I've also just come across Japlife West Midlands who have a stand at Japfest too. Based in Bromsgove, so close to home.

Hiya,
Yeah not far away at all then
you've made a good choice going for a Scooby 😁
I'll check out some of those clubs you've mentioned and see what I think.
Thanks for the information

I'm sure there used to be a lot more going on this forum regarding shows and meets etc, seems like there aren't as many Subaru meets going on anymore which is a shame.

I think just classic internet forums are on the decline. Everyone just uses social media now, Facebook, Instagram et al. Seems to be a noticeable decline in people posting on forums and a lot of the arranging is done on Facebook etc.

I like to skive off in work, so still visit the forums :D

people dont buy subarus's anymore hence the lack of meets, they became cheap and clubs like sioc popped up and became a laughing stock and most older members sold up when the cars became too old and moved on to better machinery.
its what happens, in 20 years or so they will become classics again like escort cosworths or 205 gti's

Yeah I can see both of your points
Social media is taking over the world!

I've got a classic which I've had for 8 years now and I certainly will not be selling it. It was my dream car and it still is.
Modern cars just don't come anywhere near it.
I also have a Mk2 Escort project on the go 😁

Love Mk2 Escorts.
I grew up in Northern Ireland, lots of great road rally events over there which is lacking here on the mainland. Scoobys & Escorts were my childhood hero's!
