Brembo gold sti Caliper upgrade on 53 blob

rebuilt my rear Calipers. Pistons and seals. Replaced handbrake shoes today and I noticed the new dust boots on the pistons are not staying seated and slide in and out withe the piston? The original brake Calipers had a retaining ring to hold the dust boot in position, but the Brembos don’t seem to have a retaining ring? Is this correct or am I missing something? Thx

The Brembo outer seal has a 'return' lip that sits into the body - did you use genuine seals?? Never had any issue with original Brembo items

Yes. It’s weird. The return lip as you say fits well and flush. But when brakes applied the seal just pulls out wth the piston and goes back in with it , almost as if the seal is too small?

Have you put too much grease on when fitting them , you need to put caliper grease on the seal and piston when fitting them , and no grease on the dust seal , needs to be completely dry or they will come out as you're explaining.
we build loads of these with no issues .
That's assuming you do indeed have the right seals in the first place
cheers Ian

Hi. Yes they are correct seals, but it may be a grease issue. Thanks for your input...
